Eastern Carolina Red BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
Pine & Pepper Spices
- 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. Cold water
- 2¼ cups Apple cider vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. Molasses
- ⅜ cup Dark brown sugar
- ¾ cup Butter
- 1½ Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

In a small bowl, stir the cornstarch into the cold water to make a slurry, and set aside.

In a large saucepan, combine the vinegar, molasses, brown sugar, Carolina Red BBQ Rub, butter, mustard powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring the sauce to a gentle boil, stirring until the butter melts and everything is smooth.

Lower the heat and slowly drizzle in the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly. Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Pull from the heat. Serve warm or at room temperature.
