Spiced Orange Drop Cookies
Ingredients
Pine & Pepper Spices
- 1¼ cups Unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 large Orange, zested
- 2½ Tbsp. Dark corn syrup
- 3¾ cups All-purpose flour
- 2½ tsp. Baking soda
- ⅔ tsp. Salt
Directions
-
1
Heat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
-
2
Add butter and sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed until creamy and well combined, 2 to 3 minutes.
-
3
Add the egg and beat until fluffy, another 1 to 2 minutes. Mix in the orange zest and dark corn syrup until smooth.
-
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, Supreme Saigon Cinnamon, Ground Ginger, Ground Madagascar Cloves, and salt.
-
5
With the mixer on low, add the dry ingredients in small additions, mixing just until the dough comes together — don't over-mix.
-
6
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until edges are set and centers are just barely shy of done.
-
7
Cool on the pan for a couple of minutes before transferring to a rack. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
